Colorizing progress

I started colorizing this self portrait today. It is going pretty smoothly since I worked solid on the grisaille (see previous blog). Even though I call it colorizing, it also gets more and more refined and detailed as it progresses. Colors of the face would pop more if I indicate some colors in the hair and background but I have some compositional plans for the background that needs to wait till I can paint it in. 

I’ve been having a minor facial skin symptom lately that seems to be what is called rosacea. I’m not at all certain but just a self diagnosis after researching the symptoms online. But I’ve been getting it mildly only when it’s hot, such as right after I get of the hot shower. So I tried to capture that as well because I liked the flushed colors around middle of my face. Maybe I need to take hot shower before each sitting to maintain this flushed skin tone. I like the contrast with the greens around it
