Figure painting from life from long time ago

This is life size huge piece I was starting on back in the late 90s. I was a struggling artist and eventually couldn’t afford the apartment ( also my studio )anymore so had to move out of the place hence Ieft at this stage where I was done with the grisaille and started colorizing on the face . Back then, classical realism painting from life wasn’t well known and I wasn’t aware here that I was doing a painting technique method called grisaille( painting without colors in browns or greys first before colorizing ). But it was something I derived doing myself as ive found it to be a safe approach. Taking paintings to finished level from life in naturalistic manner is something ive taught myself in . I still paint the same way but skip the grisaille sometimes when I feel brave
