Painting tedious details

Whenever I have to paint something tedious like letters or music notes 🎵, I think of one of my teachers Gary Meyer who was a master at rendering detailed patterns and letterings and things. When asked how he does them, he answered “very very carefully”. Thankfully my painting method evolved to more painterly style so I can just doodle them in fast and sketchy like this as indications but still feels tedious. Painting-movie tonight is Year One.
