Rose painting

I started painting in the flowers today. I don’t have much experience with rose painting or flower paintings. I tried to keep the paint pretty thin yet opaque  to try and maintain the smooth texture of the petals.  I intend to make them pretty tight and refined rather than the simplified bravura style that the flowers especially roses are often painted. I was a little worried because I haven’t painted much flowers before but I treated it like how I would approach any other subject matter including portraits or the human figure. I think it’s more versatile to Not have separations of formulated approaches for specific subject matters
